The Ashgate Ledger

Ashgate's city keeps a paper trail. The Ledger is how the whole city finds out what really happened.

Real events, not generated ones

The Ledger reports things that actually happened in the database — a rank climbed, a war won, a bounty collected, a family broken. It never invents winners, deaths, arrests, or results that didn't occur. The database decides what happened; the Ledger is the language the game uses to tell the whole city about it.

Live now, written by hand

The Ledger is already live and readable in-game in Season Zero — every article is written and published by admins from real events, alongside short City Desk bulletins. It's a real newspaper, just not an automated one yet.

Coming: AI-assisted drafting, still reviewed by hand

We're building tooling to help turn a real event into a first draft faster — but nothing will ever publish automatically. Every article will still go through admin review before it reaches players. AI will only ever add flavour over real data; it will never decide what the game says happened.
